Intensive Moscow's Attacks Disrupt Power Across Ukraine's Capital

Power facilities under attack in the region
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

During the night, Russian aerial assaults have led to electricity outages in multiple districts of the capital city, Kyiv.

Nine people were wounded while inhabitants in eastern neighborhoods were experienced blackouts and faced interruptions to drinking water, according to city officials.

Simultaneously, a seven-year-old child was killed in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia region in the country's south-east, according to local officials.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over the last fortnight, while Ukrainian leadership has demanded "substantial measures" from allies to exert influence on Moscow.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, European nations and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing penalties," mentioned in a online statement.

Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and more than 30 missiles targeted energy facilities, characterizing such assaults as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and maintenance teams were working to fix the damage.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Five out of the nine people injured in the attacks on the city have been transported for medical care, as confirmed by local officials.

Area administrators said the city experienced intense attacks overnight. A young boy died and several individuals were wounded.

The assaults come after periods of air raids in the region, portions of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

All of Ukraine is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are harder to detect.

National leaders told the media that Moscow was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already disrupting gas facilities.

Authorities confirmed technical personnel and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
